Perryville FFA is turning 75 years old

Perryville FFA

PERRYVILLE – Seventy-five years ago a group of individuals found a need for agriculture education in Perry County and developed and established a vocation program along with an official FFA Chapter on August 15, 1934.

Since then the Perryville FFA has had thousands of past members and continues to change the lives of students daily with hands-on learning, leadership values and strong work ethics.

In celebration of the 75 anniversary the Perryville FFA Alumni, which was just recently established this past year is hosting a dinner auction on Saturday, August 15 on the official chapter establishment date. The dinner auction will be held at the East Perry Senior Center in Altenburg and doors open at 6 p.m. There will be a silent auction all evening and a meal will be served at 7 p.m. followed by a live auction to wrap up the event. The meal will consists of kettle beef, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cold slaw, homemade deserts and free drinks throughout the evening donated by Kohlfeld Distributing.

Some of the auction items for the evening will include a Farmall pedal tractor, swing set made by FFA members, numerous collectable toys, and much more. Tickets are $20 a person or $35 a couple. To donate for the event or to purchase tickets call Natalie Fritsche at 547-4791, Alisa Schumer at 547-1108 or Hannah Fritsche at 547-7500 ext. 261.

All proceeds from the dinner auction will go towards the new FFA exhibit hall at the East Perry Fair.
