Albert A. Preston Albert Andrew Preston of St. Peters formerly of Perryville, MO died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his residence. He was 90.
He was born in Lithium, MO on November 30, 1919, son of the late Andrew and Cora (Ratcliff) Preston. He was married on April 13, 1941 to Verna Marie Corse who preceded him in death on December 22, 2002. Other survivors include one son and one daughter: Terry (Sharon) Preston of New Port Richey, FL., Donna (Byron) Chapin of St. Peters, MO., one brother and one sister: Grace Statler of St. Charles, MO., Wilbert Preston of Ferguson, MO., three grandchildren: Alexsis (Jaco) Venter, Jason Preston, and Heather (Brian) Gardener, two great-grandchildren: Evan Preston, and Brayden Gardner, and former daughter-in-law Irene Preston. Mr. Preston was a General Motors retiree and member of UAW Union Local #25. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harvester, MO. Al had been employed with Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles as a Hall Monitor for the last 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers: Arthur, Carl and Champ Preston, and one sister: Zelma Erwin. Memorials may be made to the Albert Preston Scholarship fund @ Francis Howell North High School. Visitation for Mr. Preston will be held at Young & Sons Chapel on Friday, February 5 from 4 – 8 pm. The American Legion Wake is Friday @ 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 6 from 6:30 – 8:00 am. The Memorial Service will be delivered by Max Rhodes at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Service provided by VFW Post 4282 & the Delta Team. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements. |
