Rev. Clarence J. Bogetto, CM A funeral will be held Saturday, June 6th, 2009 for the 94-year-old Rev. Clarence J. Bogetto, CM of Perryville who died Wednesday, June 3rd at the St. Mary’s of the Barrens Vincentian Residence in Perryville.
He is survived by three nieces: Delores Vallat of Beaumont, Texas; Margaret Ann Elhart-Holland, Michigan and Mrs. Steve Nagelkirk of Marquette, Michigan; and a nephew Robert Cahill of Birmingham, Alabama. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother He was ordained a Catholic priest June 9, 1945 at Perryville. Among his assignments were: 1945-1948 Depaul Academy, Chicago, Illinois where he was on the faculty. 1948-1957 he served in the administration of DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. 1957-1958 he was an associate pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Chicago, Illinois. 1958-1961 he served on the faculty of DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. 1961-1967 he was on the faculty of St. Vincent de Paul Seminary, Lemont, Illinois. 1967-1979 He was on the faculty of St. Vincent’s College, Cape Girardeau. 1979-1992 he was the Chaplain at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. In 1992 he was assigned Senior Confrere in Residence at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday, June 5th at the Mary Mother of God Chapel of the Vincentian Residence in Perryville. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass for the 94-year-old Rev. Clarence J. Bogetto, CM of Perryville will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6th at the Church of the Assumption in Perryville. Burial will be in the Vincentian Cemetery, Perryville. The Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
