Joyce Helmers

A funeral will be held Friday, June 5th, 2009 for 52-year-old Joyce Helmers of Perryville, who died Tuesday, June 2nd in Jefferson County.

She was born July 22nd, 1956 in Perryville, the daughter of Henry O. "Sonny" and Yvonne (Manche) Romann who survive in Perryville.

She married Harlan Helmers on May 21, 1976. He survives in Perryville.

She is also survived by a son, daughter-in-law and grandchild; Matt, Laura and Avery Helmers of St. Mary; a sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and Gary Brewer; and a brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Vickie Romann all of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Herman and Ora Manche, paternal grandparents: Henry and Stephanie Romann and a sister, Barbara Wibbenmeyer.

She was manager of Romann Farms and co-owner of INETPLUS.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Mary, Memory Maker’s Quilt Club, UCT Secretary, President of Belgique Cemetery Association, past administrator of Montclair Residential Care in Perryville, Perryville High School graduate Class 1974 and Southeast Missouri State University graduate.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 4th and 6:30-9:15 a.m. Friday, June 5th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville with prayer service at 5 p.m. Thursday.

A funeral mass for 52-year-old Joyce Helmers of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 5th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Mary. The Rev. Richard Kasznel will officiate. Burial will be in the Belgique Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to family choice.
