A funeral will be held Wednesday, June 3^rd, 2009 73-year-old John Richard Meyer of Biehle who died Saturday, May 30^th at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

He was born September 6^th, 1935 in Perry County, the son of the late Elmer F. and Mathilda Marie (Wibbenmeyer) Meyer who both preceded him in death.

He married Patricia "Pat" A. Hotop Meyer on October 7, 1961. She survives in Biehle.

He is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis "Danny" and Mary Meyer of Bloomsdale and Dale and Lisa Meyer of Perryville, two daughters and sons-in-law; Sue and Charles Hoehn of Perryville and Tammy and Kirk Kinder of Daisy; a twin brother, James Roger Meyer of Perryville and eight grandchildren: Jennifer Hoehn, Justin, Travis, Chantelle and Chasity Meyer and Chad, Cody and Colton Kinder.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Mangels, and a brother, Clarence "Bobby" Meyer.

He was retired after 26 years at Chrysler’s maintenance department. He was the former owner of Meyer’s Bar and Café and a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2^nd at the Young and Sons Funeral Home, with prayer service at 6 p.m., and 6:30-9:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 3^rd with rosary recited at 8 a.m.

A funeral for 73-year-old John Richard Meyer of Biehle will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3^rd at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. The Rev. Tony Dattilo will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred for family use.
