Leona E. Kaempfe

Leona E. Kaempfe of Roseville, MN (formerly of Altenburg, MO) died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Presbyterian Homes of Roseville in Roseville, MN. She was 85.

She was born in Altenburg, Missouri on February 6, 1924 daughter of the late Rudolf F. and Christina (Mueller) Weber. She was married on June 20, 1948 to Arnold M. F. Kaempfe who preceded her in death on November 27, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and DeVon Lark of Roseville, MN, Martha Kaempfe and Dayvid Schultz of Chicago, IL and four grandchildren: Peter (Jennifer), Matthew and Christina Lark and Anna Kaempfe Schultz (Antonio Herrera). She is also survived by beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kaempfe was a US Postal Worker and a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid charter member, Docent for Perry County Lutheran Historical Society, LWML, American Postal Workers Union, Altenburg Lion’s Club and American Legion Post 133 Auxilliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Edwin and Wilmer Weber and two sisters: Elda Hunt and Viola Boehme

Memorials are preferred to Lutheran Heritage Center or Trinity Ladies Aid.

Mrs. Kaempfe will rest in state at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg on Friday, April 24 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on Saturday, April 25 from 6:30 am – 12:30 pm. She will then be taken to Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg for Service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Steven Dressler and Rev. Walter Patzwitz co-officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
