Dorothy Kiefer Brown Dorothy Kiefer Brown of Perryville died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was 89.
Mrs. Brown had worked at the Miraculous Medal Gift Shop. She was born November 25, 1919 in Sereno, MO, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Gertrude (Gagnepain) Moore. She was married on December 12, 1942 to Homer "Jim" Kiefer. He preceded her in death March 17, 1966. She married Gilbert Brown on September 15, 1972 he preceded her in death August 24, 1976. Survivors include six daughters; Mary Ann Dockins of McKinney, TX, Barbara (Jerrold) Jennings of Perryville, Joan (Bob) Dean of Perryville, Kathy Kiefer of St. Peters, Sandra (Carl) Rothermich of O’Fallon, Lori Kiefer of St. Louis; six step children Ed (Susie) Brown of Farmington, Thomas (Margie) Brown of Ste. Genevieve, Larry (Carol) Brown, Kathy (Ed) Robinson, Dennis (Tammy) Brown, Scott (Pat) Brown all of Perryville; two sisters, Hazel Unnerstall of Perryville, and Katzie Lorenz of Ironton; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, fifteen step grandchildren, and nineteen step great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent Ministry of Praise, Ministry to the Elderly, American Legion Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son, Jim Kiefer, one step son, Gregory Brown, two sisters, Rita Gieringer and Doris Killian, and three brothers, Clyde, Lester and Howard Moore. Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent School System or American Cancer Society. Funeral Mass for Mrs. Brown will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 noon. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements. |
