May 29, 2008 Chester Muni Band begins Summer Concert Series Tuesday The 71st season for the Chester Municipal Band’s Summer Concert Series will begin on Tuesday, June 3. The band has been rehearsing at the Chester Grade School’s Band Room in preparation for the start of their summer concert series which this summer features 12 concerts. The first concert will be held this Tuesday evening at 7pm at the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Other concert dates in June include June 10 at the First United Methodist Church and June 24 at Rozier’s Country Market. There are six dates on the concert calendar for the month of July. On July 1, the Muni Band will perform at the Cohen Home, July 4 on Kaskaskia Island as part of the annual Kasky Island Celebration, July 8 at Peace Lutheran Church, July 21 at St. Ann’s Healthcare Center, July 22 at Three Spring Nursing Home and July 29 at the First Presbyterian Church. In August, the Chester Muni Band will perform at the First Baptist Church on August 5 and the Palestine Methodist Church on August 12. The Chester Muni Band will wrap up their summer concert series with their annual performance during the Popeye Picnic on Sunday, September 7. The band is directed by Steve Colonel. |
