May 29, 2008 A number of blood drives scheduled in Randolph County for June The American Red Cross has announced the times and locations for a number of blood drives scheduled for Randolph County in the month of June. In the Missouri-Illinois region, 1,200 donations of whole blood are needed everyday. Type O negative is especially needed because it can be given to 100 percent of the population. Because of this, its referred to as the "universal" blood type and is crucial during emergencies. Hospitals often have at least two units of O negative blood waiting when a trauma patient is scheduled to arrive. Here is a list of the dates, times and locations for the June Blood Drives in Randolph County. June 3 American Legion Hall, Steeleville from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. June 5 Sparta Ford from 2pm to 6pm.
