May 28, 2008 Sparta Public Library to receive state construction grant The Sparta Public Library has been awarded a construction grant under the FY08 Live and Learn construction grant program offered by the Illinois State Library. Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White has awarded grants to ten public libraries, including the one in Sparta, with infrastructure improvement needs. The Sparta Public Library will be receiving a grant in the amount of $25,000 for reconfiguration of the library to expand customer service without enlarging the library itself. The project will create an accessible computer workstation, teen room and front entrance patron information desk. |
