May 23, 2008 Chester husband and wife plead guilty to cannabis charges A husband and wife from Chester will be sentenced beginning next month after both pled guilty to cannabis charges this month in Randolph County. Randolph County States’ Attorney Randy Rodewald says last week, Darrel Eggemeyer pled guilty to possession of between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis which is a Class 1 felony. Eggemeyer pled guilty to the charge on Thursday, May 15. Meanwhile, his wife, Margaret Eggemeyer pled guilty Thursday to possession of between 500 and 2,000 grams of cannabis which is a Class 2 felony. Margaret Eggemeyer is facing a punishment of up to seven years in prison and fines of $100,000 plus court costs. Darrel Eggemeyer is facing a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and fines in the amount of $150,000 plus court costs. Judge Richard Brown ordered pre-sentence investigation reports to be done after accepting both pleas. Darrel Eggemeyer will be sentenced on June 27 while Margaret Eggemeyer will be sentenced on July 21. |
