May 23, 2008 Chester High School Seniors to receive diplomas Sunday Wouldn’t you know it? The weather is suppose to turn warmer and humid, just in time for commencement exercises inside what is expected to be a warm Daniel Colbert Gym at Chester High School this Sunday. The Class of 2008 will receive their diplomas this Sunday afternoon during the 3pm ceremony. The Class of 2008 will be the 122nd class to graduate from Chester High School. Later Sunday night, the Class of 2008, the top 10 juniors and all of their guests will climb aboard Southwestern Illinois Bus Company buses to make the trip to Perryville, MO for the annual Project Graduation Celebration at the Perry Park Center. Any senior that registered for Project Graduation needs to be at the parking lot behind the school by the tennis courts by 9:15 pm according to Dr. Jim Beers, coordinator for Project Graduation. The busses will load there and depart by no later than 9:30 p.m. Students attending are encouraged to bring a small bag with a swimsuit, towel and any other items needed for the all-night party. Seniors are urged to wear their 2008 Project Graduation T-Shirt that they received at graduation practice Wednesday May 21. Students attending Project Graduation will board the buses for the return trip to Chester at 5am and should be back in town at the high school at 5:30am Monday morning. |
