Unemployment rate drops in Randolph County

The unemployment rate dropped from February to March in Randolph County according to preliminary numbers released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

March’s unemployment rate for Randolph County stood at 5.6% which is down from the revised February rate of 6.7%. The unemployment rate though was higher than March 2007 which was 4.7%.

In neighboring Perry County, the rate there dropped from February to March. March’s rate in Perry County stood at 8.6%, down from 9.5% in February. In Jackson County, March’s unemployment rate was 6.9% down from 7.5% recorded in February.
