Yasmin Darwish Crowned 2008 Miss HerrinFesta Italiana

Chester High School Senior Yasmin Darwish was crowned the 2008 Miss HerrinFesta Italiana at the annual Miss HerrinFesta Italiana Scholarship Pageant Monday night. The pageant marks the start of festivities for the 2008 HerrinFesta Italiana.

Ten contestants competed in the areas of sportswear, swimwear, evening gown, and on-stage interviews. Of the ten contestants, five finalists were selected. At the end of the night, Miss Yasmin Darwish of Chester was victorious.

18-year-old Darwish will receive a $3,000 cash scholarship, the queen’s crown, trophy, bouquet, and the use of a 2008 Saturn Sky.

Darwish will also attend the festival from Thursday through Monday, attending concerts, judging and possibly taking part in competitions.

Darwish was crowned Homecoming Queen at Chester High School last Fall.
