Firemen called out to a barn fire in Rockwood

Members of the Chester Fire Department were called out to a location in Rockwood just before midnight last night.

Chester Fire Chief Mike Lochhead said firemen were called to a barn fire on Pleasant Ridge Road in Rockwood, just off Route 3 around 11:45pm Sunday night.

By the time firemen arrived on the scene, the barn was completely destroyed. It took a little bit longer than normal for firemen to respond because they were stopped by a train south of Chester near Mary’s River Bridge.

Chester firemen were on the scene for about 30 minutes before returning back to the firehouse.

No injuries were reported.
