Final fundraiser for 2008 CHS Project Graduation set for this Saturday

The final fundraiser for the 2008 edition of Chester High School’s Project Graduation will be held this Saturday at Wal-Mart.

The fundraiser will feature a car wash, bake sale and BBQ.

The car wash and bake sale will begin at 9am according to Project Graduation coordinator Dr. Jim Beers. He says donations of baked goods are needed and all senior families are asked to contribute. Donations can be dropped off at Wal-Mart beginning at 8am. The bake sale will be held on the Wal-Mart porch.

The car wash will run from 9am to 2pm and the chairperson of this event is Mayor Marty Bert. All seniors are needed to work at the car wash and they should bring towels, rags, bug scrappers and buckets to help out with the vehicle washings.

Parents are needed to oversee the car wash to move cars, assist with the more delicate aspects of the car washing and handle donations. The car wash will be held on the west side of Wal-Mart near the garden center.

The BBQ will begin serving around 10:30am and will run until mid-to-late afternoon. The menu will feature BBQ pork steaks, pulled pork, potato salad and slaw, drinks and dessert. The BBQ will be held on the east lawn of Wal-Mart.

Chester High School graduation is set for Sunday, May 25 at 3pm inside Daniel Colbert Gymnasium and Project Graduation will be held that night from 10pm to 5am the next morning at the Perry Park Center in Perryville.

Beers says the Class of 2008 would like to thank everyone who has helped with the various fundraising efforts this school year.
